Lakshmi's Blessing Before India Departure

Namaste everyone,

Last weekend Shree Maa performed a Lakshmi Homa at the Lalita Chandika Temple. This was to be her last darshan for a while, as she would soon depart for India.

A typical day in the life of Shree Maa starts with a Shiva Puja. On this morning, Shree Maa performed puja while I was graced with the chopping vegetables and opening cans in preparation for our Mother, the embodiment of Annapurna, to feed her children Thai food for prasad that evening at the Lalita Chandika temple.

It was great fun cooking with Shree Maa, but once she entered the kitchen she moved WAY too quickly for me to catch the recipe. Sorry everyone - maybe next time. The best I could do was snap a few pictures of the ingredients.

By about noon we were all ready to head to the Lalita Chandika Temple. Upon arrival, Shree Maa received some special attention from Munmun, who painted her nails in preparation for her India trip,.

Family members also began showing up, and Vish and Sadatmananda were seen donning the new Lalita Chandika t-shirts. Watch out Kardashians!

Then we all assembled for the Lakshmi Homa. Swami Pranava performed an outstanding homa, while some of our youngest members participated for the first time. I couldn't help but focus my attention on Tridipa.

After the overhand toss with a fist full of rice, Vish and Mireya became the gurus and taught Tridipa how to make the offering.

Tridipa was a very quick learn and turned back to her mother for approval. It was then, that her Mother appeared surrounded by light, looking like the Goddess herself!

Jai Maa!

After the Homa, we made our way to the temple, performed arati, sang bhajans, ate prasad, and bid farewell to Shree Maa on her journey.

Lakshmi Mata Ki Jai!
