Happy New Year!

Kick the New Year off on the right foot with Mantra Sankalpa.

The purpose of these sankalpas is to not only be praying for ourselves and our families, but also to pray for world peace and harmony.

The collective effort in chanting the sankalpa at the same time as hundreds of other devotees also creates special benefits for the whole universe.

Currently we are in the month of Margashirsha, which is a special month for worshiping Lord Vishu, particularly in his form of Sri Krishna.

Lord Krishna stated in the Bhagavad Gita:

Among the songs I am the great song of the Vedas, among meters I am the Gayatri, 24 syllables to the verse. Among the months I am Margashirsa, and among seasons I am Spring.
~ Bhagavad Gita (10:35)

So you can see that this special sankalpa is very auspicious right now to generate world peace, harmony, and healing.

May you all do your part and pray at least one mala per day in January. Here is the mantra:

ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय

Om Namo Bhagavate Vāsudevāya
